Process

Through responsive design and engagement of contemporary issues, our practice brings Architecture and Planning to communities and individual clients.

Every client, user and community has a very unique “story” of their vision, site considerations, programmatic needs, and other design considerations. Our process is geared to discover and understand the meaning of these stories and implement a project, crafted with artistic grace, to support these important needs.

Clients and projects range in scope from small to large-scale environments to city-wide planning and urban design projects. In each case our process is very similar:

Collaboration
We collaborate fully and openly with the end users and clients through programming the design requirements. We organize brainstorming workshops to collaborate and understand the vision and requirements of each project.

Evolution
We move forward in incremental steps through planning and design. We allow the design studies to evolve in steps from diagrams to plans to more detailed studies. We engage our clients along the way with meetings and workshops in order to develop and critique alternatives to arrive at a preferred scheme.

Exploration
We utilize multi-media to explore the design each project. Hand sketches, renderings, digital modeling, physical modeling, photographic montage, collage, paintings, and other artifacts are developed to instill a deeper understanding of vision and requirements for each project.

Analysis
We apply costing and modeling tools to track the project budget and implementation issues. We bring the vision and budget into alignment through this ongoing analysis.
